ABC Works is a licensed Day Training and Habilitation (DT&H) program designed for people with significant barriers to employment, yet with a desire to work. The program offers a variety of work opportunities, skills development, and volunteer activities, both in community job settings and in structured environments at our facilities in La Crescent and Caledonia. Through partnerships with local businesses, and under the supervision of our dedicated staff, participants work in paid positions and achieve a higher level of independence.
Examples of ABC Works’ community-based business partners, and the tasks of their ABC Works employees include:
-
- Subway Restaurants – dishwashing, prep, and customer service
- Small Change Laundry Service – laundry and delivery services
- Pepsi-Cola Bottling of LaCrosse – repackaging and disposal
- River Valley Sprouts – packaging
In our centers in La Crescent and Caledonia, ABC Works has the staff and training resources to help people try new things, develop new skills, or further their existing skills. The centers are environments for people who may be unable to work at community-based jobs. A few of the jobs ABC Works participants do from our facilities:
-
- Kit-building
- Packaging
- Collating
- Assembly
- Labeling
- Shredding
