Administrative Support (on-call, temporary)

The Administrative Support position at Ability Building Community (ABC) is responsible for assisting with the administrative operations of the agency, including assistance with ongoing administrative projects and as-needed front desk coverage.

This position is on-call with varied hours, temporary with possibility to hire. Non-Exempt. $15.00/hour

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of office or administrative experience
  • Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background study
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality

Director of Finance (Rochester)

Ability Building Community is looking for a Director of Finance to join our amazing team!

About the job:

The Director of Finance position is responsible for overseeing financial operations for the agency:

  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of all ABC financial reports and budgets and all necessary tax reports.
  • Provide management oversight of the accounting department, including staff supervision.
  • Function as the Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO), which the the primary point of contact for monitoring and reporting on matters pertaining to corporate compliance.
  • Provide payroll administration support and ensure processes meet compliance.
  • Maintain control and confidentiality of financial records and assets as well as personnel payroll, agency insurance policies, and benefits information.
  • Perform internal reviews as needed to ensure audit readiness. Keep updated on new accounting/tax/regulatory information.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with regulatory audits and reviews.
  • Analyze, review and approve community contracts.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team and act as the ABC staff liaison for the finance and investment committee of the ABC Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a finance/accounting leadership position
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background study

Salary: $62,000-70,000/year plus benefits (Full Time, Exempt)

Direct Support Professional (Rochester, La Crescent, Caledonia)

Ability Building Community is looking for Direct Support Professionals to join our amazing team!

About the Job:

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are responsible for supporting individuals in the areas of work, recreation/leisure, and independent living services. DSPs help keep individuals on track with their goals and provide necessary supports to ensure all have a worthwhile experience at ABC (either in center or out in the community) each day. DSPs are essential to making sure the ABC mission is being met, day in and day out. Every day is different, rewarding, and fun!

Schedule and pay:

No evenings and weekends! Daytime hours, Monday through Friday. The starting wage for a Direct Support Professional is $15.00/hour (depending on experience), plus a benefits package for full time (30 hours/week or more) employees.

ABC is looking for FULL TIME and PART TIME employees. Anyone 16 and older is welcome to apply!

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, valid car insurance, and be able to pass pre-employment driver’s screening and Department of Human Services background study.
  • Must be able to communicate well, written and orally, and follow directions. Basic computer skills are also necessary for this position.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus, but is not required.
