Bruce Remme

Bruce joined ABC in March 2016, after a 35 year career with IBM in Finance, Integrated Supply Chain and Business Operations. Bruce has been involved at ABC since 1995 as a volunteer as Board Treasurer, Vice President, President, and has served on the Finance, Investment and Development Committees. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Think Mutual Bank. Bruce has a B.S. Business Management degree from St. Cloud State University-St. Cloud, MN and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse, WI.

Jeff Amaris

Jeff has been with ABC since 1989. He is responsible for our Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Wage & Hour, and Transportation programs. As a result of his leadership, ABC has achieved multiple "exemplary" conformance ratings for its health and safety programs from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). In the quality arena, he has extensive experience in the continuous improvement process and was a past board member of the Rochester Area Quality Council. Jeff holds an Associate in Science degree.

Kellie has worked for ABC since 2012. She started as a Job Coach in Evaluation and moved into the Community Based School to Employment Program Coordinator position in early 2013. After spending almost 3 years as the CBScE Program Coordinator, she was promoted to Human Resources Director.  Kellie has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) and will finish her Master of Arts in Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University of MN in August 2016. She is married and has one daughter. 

Laurie Kellagher

Laurie has been working at ABC since 2003. She was born in Nebraska and graduated from Bellevue University with a BA in Business Administration. She has been married to her husband Craig for 25 years, and his work is what brought them to Rochester. Laurie previously worked in the for profit world for 16 years. She has been enjoying her meaningful nonprofit work. Laurie is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Laurie's son Jason and daughter Alyssa are both encouraged by their mom to volunteer and give back to others!

Judy is the Houston County Program Director for ABC, supervising ABC Works, Woodland Industries and the West Grove House. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Psychology and began her career in 1984 at TASC in Waukon, Iowa as a Daily Living Skills Specialist. In 1986, Judy began working at the Houston County DAC (later called NetWorks) as a Program Coordinator, and after a year moved to the position of Employment Coordinator. In 2000, she became the Program Manager at ABC Works, and became Program Director for ABC in Houston County.

Wes Brandenburger

In June 2006, Wes joined the staff at Ability Building Center as the Program Director. Wes grew up in St. Joseph, Minnesota. He obtained a BA in Behavioral Psychology and MS in Behavioral Psychology from St. Cloud State, as well as a BS in Business and Computer Information Sciences from Mankato State University. He has worked as a Psychologist for the State of Wisconsin in Chippewa Falls. Wes also worked as a Psychologist in the State of Iowa for five years specializing in disabilities. For three years, Wes had a private consulting firm specializing in disability assessment and consultation of behavioral problems, especially those associated with rare disorders.

Christine Jensen

Christine joined ABC in July 2016. She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree from St. Cloud State University. Christine has 18+ years of accounting, management, and information systems experience working for companies like Medtronic and Reell Precision Manufacturing. In 2005, she and her family moved to Southern Minnesota to be closer to extended family. She was introduced to the world of rehabilitation and employment services as the Director of Finance for Cedar Valley Service in Austin, MN. She quickly developed a passion for the industry as both her sister and daughter benefit from services from other Minnesota providers. In 2013 she moved to Rochester with her husband and two younger children.

Steve Schroeder

Steve graduated from Luther College in 1981 with degrees in Accounting and Economics. He was hired as ABC's Controller in 1983 at a time when ABC didn't own any computers. He bought ABC's first computer in 1984 and now – hundreds of computers later – is the Technology Director. Steve was Controller from 1983 to 1988, and then spent 15 years as the Marketing Manager for ABC mainly focusing on marketing to the Medical sector. For all 27 years Steve has been in charge of technology at ABC in addition to his other duties. Now technology is his full time job. Steve and his wife Laura have 3 daughters. His brother Clark is the Director of a Vocational Rehabilitation Facility in New Richmond Wisconsin.

Sarah Timmerman

Sarah began her career with ABC in 2000 as a job coach for Vocational Development Services.  She has held several positions over her years at ABC including Job Coach Supervisor and Vocational Evaluation Coordinator. Sarah transitioned to a program coordinator position in Extended Employment in 2009 where her caseload consisted of individuals with higher behavioral needs.  Sarah holds an Associate in Applied Science degree.  Sarah has resided in Rochester her entire life. She has one child, who has special needs, which has provided her first-hand experiences of the challenges/concerns that parents may feel in trying to understand and coordinate appropriate services for their child. 

Stacey Boysen

Joe joined ABC in January 2016 after a 28 year career at IBM.  During his career at IBM, Joe was involved in several programs to introduce technology to disabled youth.  He has coached middle school Lego Robotics and continues his involvement with Lego Robotics by volunteering as a judge at Regional Tournaments. Joe has served on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations, including SEMCIL, RADAR and WHAAT. Joe has always enjoyed sports and started an adaptive ski program that teaches physically and cognitively challenged individuals to ski. He is a role model for what people with physical disabilities can accomplish. Joe is married and has a daughter and two step-daughters. He and his family, including dog Trixie, enjoy spending time at their camper near Wabasha and boating on the Mississippi.

Stephanie has been employed at ABC since 2006. She has worked in AE, CBE and SE as a Program Coordinator and has been the Program Manager of AU since December 2009. Stephanie has two undergraduate degrees in Counseling Psychology and Theology from Crossroads College. Stephanie lives in Rochester with her husband and her three dogs Sparky, Lilly, and Diamond. Stephanie is outgoing and is willing to try anything new. In her spare time, Stephanie likes to work on training her dogs for pet therapy work, walking, biking, and spending as much time outside as she can.

Wes Lofdahl

Dan started his career with ABC back in August of 1986 after moving from the Chicago, Illinois area. When he started at ABC he managed the screen printing, engraving and vinyl areas in production. For the last 14 years he has served as Production Director and has been a strong leader overseeing a team of nine supervisors in the production area, as well as the Maintenance and Janitorial department staff and coordinating facility operations. Dan currently holds his class C boiler license. Dan attended college at the College of Dupage for veterinarian medicine and horticulture. He enjoys the great outdoors and spending time at his permanent campsite in Houston, MN. He loves traveling, snorkeling and fishing. Dan and his wife Kathy have eight children and have 13 grandchildren. He loves spending time with family. Dan has enjoyed his 30 year tenure here at ABC and finds his efforts extremely rewarding.    

Doug Schommer

Doug joined ABC in May of 2013 as a job developer and was promoted to Director of Business Development and Public Relations in 2016.  In Doug’s new role, he will be responsible for directing the job development efforts, as well as the development of additional business opportunities and the direction of the public relationship for ABC. Doug retired from a 40 plus year career in the financial services business which included owning two firms as well as working for a large manufacture’s financial arm.

Doug has served on the boards of two non-profit organizations, the Cronin Home as well as the Wolf Center. Doug is an active member of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce and serves as an Ambassador for the Chamber and is also an active member of BNI (Business Networking International).

Doug is married to Tammy, who has worked for the Mayo Clinic for over 35 years and between them they have 5 daughters, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Doug and Tammy enjoy spending time at their camper with their daughters, grandkids, and great-grandkids.  Doug also feels blessed to be able to help individuals who are on their sobriety journey.

Doug plans to work until he’s 80 (7 more years) and is excited to have the opportunity to represent ABC and all they stand for.  He truly feels blessed to work with this group of people and to have a chance to help with the direction of ABC’s second 60 years.
